  • Your cost of attendance will be determined by the USC Financial Aid Office and will reflect tuition, all mandatory fees and, in some cases, certain allowances for living expenses.
  • You must apply for federal loans and work study through the USC Financial Aid Office (FAO). You must apply for nursing scholarships through the Department of Nursing. Department of Nursing scholarships are determined separately from the USC FAO and, therefore, may not be included on your initial financial aid award letter from the USC FAO.
  • Tuition and fees are charged per semester; all aid is disbursed in halves per semester.
  • A non-refundable $280 commitment fee is due upon enrollment and $200 is applied to your first semester’s tuition charges.
  • All financial aid amounts are subject to change.

Potential Placement Costs

Additional costs may be incurred depending on your specific placement site.

These costs can include but are not limited to:

  • Transportation
  • Parking at your placement site
  • Materials required by your placement site
  • Accommodations if you have chosen to accept a placement site further than 100 miles from your home

More information will be provided on specific costs associated with your placement site once a site has been confirmed.

Financing Your Degree

The University of Southern California Financial Aid Office (FAO) will provide you with the information you need about financial aid eligibility and how to apply. The FAO can also explain your reward letter and speak with you about how to secure your student loans.

Visit the FAO website for detailed information regarding dates and deadlines and to find downloadable forms you will need to complete for USC to process your financial aid application.

You can find information about California-specific scholarships here.

Federal student aid is available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Many employers offer tuition benefits, including tuition reimbursement and low-cost loans.

Student Health Insurance

The university requires that all students have supplemental health insurance to help cover the cost of health care that cannot be obtained at the health center, especially in emergency situations where hospitalization may be required. Enrollment in the USC student health plan will only be waived and the premium charge removed from the fee bill if documented proof of health coverage from another plan is presented using the online waiver application.
